Special Track Hyper-CC: Hyper-Distributed Systems and Applications for the Computing Continuum

The concept of the Computing Continuum (CC) is rapidly reshaping how cloud, edge, and IoT infrastructures operate together, enabling a new era of hyper-distributed, intelligent computing. As systems become increasingly interconnected, the need for seamless resource abstraction, interoperability, and secure large-scale deployment is more critical than ever.

In this context, the Special Track on Hyper-Distributed Systems and Applications for the Computing Continuum (Hyper-CC) has been launched to explore emerging technologies and methodologies that support this transformation. The track highlights innovative approaches for managing heterogeneous resources across distributed environments, addressing key challenges such as scalability, efficiency, automation, and security.

Organised as part of the Seventeenth International Conference on Cloud Computing, GRIDs, and Virtualisation (Cloud Computing 2026), taking place 19–23 April 2026 in Lisbon, Portugal, Hyper-CC will serve as a dedicated forum for researchers, engineers, and industry experts. Participants will explore new models for distributed system design, intelligent workload orchestration, and cognitive resource management across cloud–edge–IoT infrastructures.

The track invites contributions that present cutting-edge solutions, real-world experimentation, and forward-looking research shaping the future of hyper-distributed computing. Topics include dynamic and context-aware resource allocation, distributed optimisation, AI-driven orchestration, semantic modelling, trust and security through distributed ledgers, fault tolerance, data streaming, and Computing Continuum applications across sectors such as smart cities, industry, e-health, logistics, AR/VR, and digital twins.
